Abstract

Perpustakaan memiliki peran penting dalam menyediakan akses informasi dan meningkatkan literasi masyarakat. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi fungsi manajemen perpustakaan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kabupaten Nias untuk meningkatkan minat baca. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, data diperoleh dari wawancara dengan kepala dinas, pegawai, dan staf perpustakaan, serta analisis dokumen terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan telah melakukan berbagai kegiatan untuk mendorong minat baca, namun masih terdapat kekurangan dalam aspek manajemen, seperti keterbatasan dana, sumber daya manusia, dan fasilitas. Kendala-kendala ini menghambat perluasan koleksi, pembaruan teknologi, dan partisipasi masyarakat. Selain itu, keterbatasan ruang fisik untuk penyimpanan koleksi dan menjaga relevansi koleksi dengan tren bacaan yang terus berubah menjadi tantangan utama. Untuk meningkatkan pelayanan perpustakaan dan minat baca, diperlukan peningkatan dalam pengelolaan dana, pengembangan sumber daya manusia, dan partisipasi masyarakat. Implementasi teknologi digital seperti e-book juga dapat membantu meningkatkan aksesibilitas informasi. Evaluasi ini menyoroti pentingnya manajemen perpustakaan yang efektif dan strategis untuk memperbaiki kualitas pelayanan dan mendorong minat baca di kalangan masyarakat Kabupaten Nias.
